Description

Nasca is an Archaeological Culture of Ancient Peru that developed basically in the valleys of the Department of Ica, South of Peru.

Nasca is known in the entire world because of the geoglyphs, known as the Nazca Lines, which represent gigantic figures of animals, human beings and geometric designs, made on an extraordinarily large scale and with great precision. The purpose is unknown, although it has been theorized that it was a gigantic calendar, the result of astronomical observations. According to the latest findings and studies presented in May 2015 by the University of Yamagata in Japan, they concluded that the lines served as epicenters of the ritualistic activity of both the Nazca and other surrounding cultures”.
