Larco Museum.- This pre-Columbian Museum of Art is located in Pueblo Libre District of Lima. You’ll find showcases chronological galleries full of 5,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. It has a Gold and Silver Gallery with the largest collection of jewelry used by important rulers of pre-Columbian Peru. You’ll see collections of crowns, earrings, nose ornaments, garments, masks and vases, finely wrought in gold and decorated with semi-precious stones. Our ancient cultures will represent their daily lives in ceramics and Larco Museum holds the world’s largest collection of erotic ceramics. In general, this interesting Museum holds around 15,000 pieces of ceramics.
Callao Monumental.- Callao is located on the west side of Lima and is the Constitutional Province of Lima. It’s the biggest and the main Port in Peru. Even the Jorge Chávez International Airport, the main airport in Peru, is located in Callao.
When gold and silver were shipped by the Spanish conquerors from the Inca Empire, it was routed from the Port. And for that reason, it was frequently assaulted by corsairs, pirates and others.
